Sarah Smith

Principal Speech Pathologist
MSPA-CPSP, MSpPath, MTeach, BBus

Sarah obtained a Master of Speech Pathology from the University of Canberra and has experience in private practice, working with individuals of all ages. In addition to being a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP), Sarah is a qualified primary and early childhood teacher, and is trained in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). With over a decade of teaching experience across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, Sarah is passionate about empowering young people to reach their full potential.

Sarah fosters a supportive environment for collaborative goal-setting, encouraging her clients to feel heard and understood. Sarah adopts a holistic approach to therapy, tailoring assessments, intervention and therapy plans to align with each client's unique interests, needs and goals. Sarah supports her clients to develop confidence within, and ultimately, beyond the therapy space.

Committed to evidence-based practice, Sarah continuously seeks to enhance and develop her own learning and skills through regular professional development. Sarah is trained in multiple therapy programs including:

  • Sounds-Write (Literacy Program)

  • Certified Instructor in the Hanen "It Takes Two to Talk" program

  • Certified Provider in the PEERS program 

  • Key Word Sign - Introductory and Intermediate courses

  • Advanced courses in treating speech sound disorders (SSD's)

 

Further training to assess and treat motor speech sound disorders, such as childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), including:

  • Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme - 3rd edition (NDP3)

  • Rapid Syllable Transition treatment (ReST)
